Mode of Action
Alverde is an insecticide based on the active ingredient metaflumizone and acts mainly through ingestion. It causes paralysis of the insect nervous system, leading insects to stop feeding within a few hours after application and die within 1–2 days.
Phytotoxicity
For new varieties, and especially for greenhouse applications, it is recommended to perform trial sprays on a small number of plants before treating the entire crop.
Resistance Management
- Preventive treatments at the early stages of infestation and rotation with insecticides having different modes of action.
- Maximum number of applications per growing season: 3 for potatoes and 2 for all other crops.
Re-entry into the sprayed area is recommended only after the spray solution has dried. The area should not be used for grazing, even in case of crop failure.
