BASIC GRAFTING STEPS

Select a healthy rootstock and a suitable scion.
Make a clean, smooth cut on the rootstock using the grafting knife.
Prepare the scion with a corresponding angled cut.
Fit the two cut surfaces together carefully, ensuring good contact between the tissues.
Secure the graft using suitable grafting tape or another appropriate grafting material.
Keep the graft protected and monitor it regularly until the union is established.

SAFE USE

The blade is extremely sharp and should always be handled with care.

Always cut away from your body and hands.
Keep your free hand and fingers behind the cutting path.
Never place your fingers in front of or underneath the blade.
Use controlled movements and never force the knife through the material.
Work on a stable branch or surface whenever possible.
Keep the blade closed when carrying or storing the folding knife.
Keep the knife away from children and unauthorised users.
Do not use a damaged or loose blade.
Wear suitable protective gloves when appropriate, while keeping the cutting hand and blade under full control.
Never try to catch the knife if it falls.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

After use, carefully remove plant residue from the blade and clean and dry it thoroughly before storage. For hygiene, especially when working between different plants, disinfect the blade with a suitable tool disinfectant according to the product manufacturer’s instructions.

A clean and well-maintained blade helps prevent the transfer of plant material and keeps the cutting edge performing properly. Store the knife clean, dry and folded with the blade safely closed.
